Hello everyone,...sorry for the lack of updates..that is Mizuho's speciality. In any case, we were honored to see many of you today if only for a minute...Her parents also were very touched by your support.
Mizuho even had a suprise visit from our friends in Jacksonville..that was a 6 hour drive..wow. She was drifting in and out of conversations, and dreams, all day..but she still had enough energy to correct me in her sleep...
K'san's son, EJ was here...and needed help with his geometry homework-mizuho in a haze offered to take a shot a his euclidian proof!...She squinted at his triangles and went back to sleep....that's how it went.
You know Mizuho loves school: she had visitors from her classmates met at GSU/atlanta, UGA/athens, Georgia Southwestern/americus ( She has three different undergraduate degrees and a masters in accounting for those counting). Also, many friends from past jobs were here to meet and speak with her parents...it was an extremely busy and fulfilling day- Thanks everyone for your phone calls, cards, and visits..!
Her brother will be here Monday...her dad wanted to pick him up using Marta..which he's practised..(thanks Y-san for offering to pick him up). Her parents will probably be extending their stay another week.
Looks like we'll be an in patient at hospice until she's stablized on the all her medication dosages-which should be several more days at least..but we can stay as long as we need to. It's still too early to go home.
Mizuho is currently swamped, totally exhausted, and sleeping soundly for the last 5 hours..(a first). Hoping this gives her energy to talk with her brother on Monday.
Unfortunately, in the past week here..I've run into more than one other friend checked into the hospice here (there's only 36 rooms)...including a husband of one of my favorite teachers (sutton middle)...which while sad has been oddly uplifting for me. Was able to connect with some people not seen in 24 years!..a beautiful service was held today in the hospice chapel for her husband where a number of my grammar/middle school teachers, (and principal), and classmates were in attendance. I don't know if Mizuho's talked about it...but it's made my stay here very comfortable in a way...it's like Mayberry RFD in Hospice Atlanta.
Love
Jim

Jim-
So glad that you have met up with some people from your growing up years. God has His ways of encouraging us during hard times. I'm glad Mizuho's parents are trying to stay longer.
We are praying & thinking of you all.
Thanks Jim for updating the blog. Many of us inluding myself are checking the blog multiple times a day. How is Kai doing?
