Happy New Year everyone! I hope the new year brings lots of joy & happiness to us all!
I have been under the weather for the last few days. I'm hoping my injection tomorrow (for my bones) will help me get back to my normal condition.
So yesterday, I went to get PET scan, X-rays, and MRI. But I was told that my insurance company didn't approve the Pet. (I guess it cost too much!) I was so disappointed because I didn't eat/drink for this procedure for 6 hrs! Anyway, I got the X-rays and MRI done so I'm hoping we'll have some results when I see the doctor tomorrow.
So again I'm having nausea and I haven't been able to eat like normal, so I'm drinking "ensure" a lot. It tastes like a liquid milkshake (not too bad), if you haven't tried yet.
I haven't been able to sleep well - I usually work on my visualization, pray, read Bible, or read funny books when I can't sleep.
I had another session with my healer last night, and despite my current condition, she still thinks I'll make it. I have some weak moments when I'm not feeling well but I'm keeping my faith and will keep going. I love my sessions with my healer - she always puts me in a high spirit!
By the way thank you all very much for all your thoughts and well wishes - we really appreciate it!

Hi Mizuho, I was just thinking about you and Jim today. Your positive attitude is truly inspirational. I'm so sorry your insurance didn't approve the PET scan after you fasted to get ready for it. If your oncologist believes you should have it then you can challenge your insurance company to get them to pay for it. Sometimes they don't approve something intially but will approve it when challenged by you and your doctor.
I've been trying to think of some funny movies for you to rent on Netflix. I love old classics myself. A few of my favorites are Auntie Mame (with Rosalind Russell), Holiday (Cary Grant & Kathryn Hepburn), His Girl Friday (Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell), and Funny Face (musical with Audrey Hepburn & Fred Astaire).
That's good you're drinking supplements like Ensure. Another yummy one is Boost. Sometimes if you don't have a taste for anything you might try something bland like scrambled eggs. My husband always seem to be able to eat some eggs if nothing else. Add a little shredded cheese and crumbled bacon too! If you're having a lot of trouble sleeping you might try Lunesta or Ambien (if you haven't already). You'll sleep like a baby! I think about you often and I'm keeping y'all in my prayers. Love, Nancy
Happy New Year sweetie! I am sorry to hear that you still just feeling lousy. I agree with your healer and I know that this year will be a better one for you! Try to rest and stay warm, and please let me know if you need anything.
Les and I are getting the puppy on Saturday, so you need to get your strength back so that you can come over and play with her!
Oh, and I agree with Nancy. I would challenge the PET scan. If your doctor says you need it, you need it.
Don't know if you want to take anything else, or even if your doctor would approve of you taking it, but melatonin might help you sleep. Read about it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melatonin
Wish there was something I could do for you.
Val
Hey Mizuho, Happy New Year to you too! Often think about you, and we know you will get better soon! :)
