So, I went to see Dr. M yesterday and told him about my bones. He gave me good suggestions about how to keep my bones strong but he also said he can do Reiki. For people who are not familiar, Reiki started in Japan and I just looked it up but it is a method of energy healing. (see what is Reiki on this website) http://www.reiki.org/FAQ/WhatIsReiki.html
Dr. M happens to be a Reiki master also - what a great news. He said he will try to get some other Reiki masters to have a session (works better when multiple masters work together). Some friends of ours suggested us to try Reiki before but I wasn't really sure what it was so I hadn't looked into it. But I was having lunch with some friends today, and one friend said her grandfather was also a Reiki master in Japan. Now I'm really excited about trying Reiki.
By the way, I'm really in a high spirit. Dr. M told me I need to exercise - so I even went for a walk in the gym at work today. I can't walk as fast as before but I managed to walk 1.6 miles. The gym at work is really great - I should go there more often.
Jim wants me to mention that my next treatment for my cancer in the lung (not in the bones) is most likely to be a pill called "Tarceva". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarceva
This pill works best on patients like me - Asian woman, never-smoker, and adenocarcinoma (my cancer type) so it seems very promising! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Good night!

Yeah - we're actually at a disadvantage anyway - R & I have been told because we're small boned we're at greater risk for calcium loss. So that goes ditto for you. Time to build up your bones. Walking is good, resistance training is better. Not that I'm doing it! ha ha
Val
I've actually heard that working out with weights is good for your bones. When you feel a bit stronger Mizuho, I would definitely try doing a little bit of light weight training (that was always my favorite thing to do at the gym anyway, play with the Nautilus machines).
These new treatments they are putting you on sound very promising. It also seems that they are much less likely to make you feel so sick and wear your body out.
Hello Mizuho
How are you?
Merry Christmas to you.
Leave everything to Jesus.
I think that I don't have about "ki".
How about "hari(or sinkyuh)"
Acupuncture is is very good for a lot of conditions in Japan.
It is good in the tablet being effective for you.
Hi Val & Chriseda, Dr. M recommended weight training but Jim stopped me from doing it (afraid I'm going to have a fracture). But I'm going to start again!
Lazarus-san, I've been going to Hari for a while and it is helping with my pain.
