Back to work
Today was my first day back to work! I felt really good going into the office - just like my usual day before this all started. But I got a little tired at the end of the day - hope I can keep my energy level up until my next chemo. By the way I learned that the pain I was experiencing when I eat or drink is because of the damage to my esophagus. I was afraid my cancer was spreading or something but my doctor said it is a common side effect from radiation treatment. He just recommended me to take some pain medication when it gets too bad. I'm going to see my Eastern doctor on Wed, so I hope he has some suggestion other than the pain medication. Anyway, I saw a resident whom I saw before I started my treatment. He said my voice sounds much better and I look much better than before. I noticed my voice came back about a week ago. Now I have cough (another side effect from radiation), so sometimes I can not talk that well, but when my throat is clear my voice sounds better. I think the radiation treatment is working!

Hello
Mrs. Mizuho
I'm always looking at the report in Yururi Village.
Why did you emigrate to the United States?
Lazaras
That is great to hear! Let me know if you are up to lunch some day when you are at work - its just a few blocks for me to walk up to your office.
I used to work with a nurse that said our tendency to think things will get better actually ends up with us over-medicating. At the first sign you're feeling pain or discomfort, go ahead and take something. Don't wait until it gets so bad the meds don't really do anything. That's what I try to do now with my sinus headaches. I used to try to wait the pain out, thinking it would eventually get better. Then when it didn't, I'd end up so miserable all I can do is lie around.
Hang in there! And, you know the drill, call us if you need ANYTHING!
Val
Hey Mizuho!
You are an amazing woman! I can't believe you are back at work- you GO girl! Just be sure not to overdo it and to get lots of rest and relaxation. Now is the time to worry about yourself first and foremost.
How is Jim doing? Is he feeling much better?
I agree with you about Kai- he will never know that he missed his real first birthday and it will be a great way to mark your full recovery.
I really thought your voice was sounding much better over the phone the other day. You are beating this thing girl! You are doing it!
Watsons- oh you guys will most definitely get to see our decorations. We are planning to throw the Halloween party this year and I will be sure you guys get an evite. Things have been a little crazy in our household so we haven't had much of a chance to get the decorations out. I'm hoping to get everything up and running over the next week or so.
Everyone have a great day and go Mizuho go!
Hi everyone - thanks for your comments. Lazaras-san, are you from Yururin Mura? What's your HN in Japanese? I came here first to go to college.
Hi Les, you want to do lunch this Fri? I'll e-mail you.
I am definitely on for Friday. We'll work out the details in email.
